Classroom Conflict Resolution

Resolving conflict in the classroom has become a top priority of teachers and school administrators to ensure the safety of the students and facility.  Teachers have found that most conflicts can be resolved in a quick and simple manner with the right strategy.  Here is one strategy:

Define the problem verbally and in writing, be specific

Give each person(s) a chance to share his/her/their feeling(s)

Brainstorm possible solutions

Choose one solution that makes sense to both parties.  Consider the solutions carefully

Implement the solution

Decide together if the problem has been resolved

If not, continue on by choosing another alternative solution
