Mountain View Hospital in Gadsden, AL  and Mountain View Behavioral Health Center in Montgomery, offer Senior Adult Day Services.  The Senior Adult Day Center allows for treatment and evaluation of individuals in a structured partial hospitalization program (4 1/2 hours per day) while still allowing them the freedom to live at home.  This is accomplished through an individualized schedule of group therapy activities.  The program treatment team consists of Psychiatrists, Psychologists, Counselors, Nurses, and Case Managers.  Each client undergoes an intensive assessment to provide an individualized plan of care.  Services are provided Monday through Friday, a noon meal is provided and transportation can be arranged at no charge.

Conditions for older Americans have improved markedly. Since the passage of the Older Americans Act of 1965, many older persons have improved their quality of life through the growing array of services and agencies designed to assist senior adults. With healthcare costs and the number of older Americans rising, it is vital to promote and coordinate with these agencies to provide the very best of care for the elderly, their caregivers, and family members.

The SeniorView Resource Center at Mountain View was developed as the single resource to inform seniors and their families of any services available, to coordinate these services for individuals and to provide a single point of access to any agency needed. At Mountain View, we work closely with all agencies throughout the community that provide many services for seniors and their families. We believe that quality of life, chronic conditions, disabilities, and life threatening illnesses frequently can be prevented or improved through the many senior programs available in our community. These services save millions in healthcare costs and most importantly, enable older adults to remain active and independent members of their families and communities

The SeniorView Resource Center at Mountain View Hospital is committed to helping our growing senior population gain access to the community resources that are so vital to obtaining a better quality of life. Many times senior citizens and their families may not be aware of services available nor how to access these resources. SeniorView Resource Center was created to change this. We believe that quality of life, chronic conditions, disabilities, and life-threatening illnesses frequently can be prevented or improved through the many senior programs available in our community.

The SeniorView Resource Center has worked hard to obtain resource information and to establish relationships with these resources and providers in order to better serve the needs of seniors. We strive to approach each need on an individual and personal basis in order to provide the best service possible. By matching seniors and their families to the available resources, we believe that this could enable older adults to remain active and independent members of their families and communities.

The calls to SeniorView that are most often received are for information on health care, transportation, home health agencies, sitters list, Medicare, Social Security, help with medicine, senior housing, and adult day services. The SeniorView Resource Center also offers information on the following services:

American Association of Retired Persons (AARP) · Area Agency on Aging · Assisted Living Facility · Attorneys · Case Management Services · Churches with active Senior Programs · Colleges · Community Education · Council on Aging · Day Care Centers · Department of Human Resources · Home Health Agencies · Hospice Centers · Insurance Companies · Local Senior Clubs · Meal on Wheels · Medicaid Benefits · Medical Equipment/Services · Medicare Benefits · Nutrition Centers · Outpatient Services · Pharmacies · Physical/Occupational Therapist · Physicians · Residential Services · Respite Sitter List · Retirement Communities · Senior Professional Education Seminars · Senior Centers · Social Security · Special Programs in the Community · Support Groups · Transportation · United Way Programs · Veterans Administration · Volunteer Opportunities/Organizations
